To everyone in my class, your compare and contrast papers will be due by March 31, by the end of that day's class. If you have any questions before then, feel free to ask.
Hm. It's later than I thought. I guess I'll skip my next cup of coffee and go to bed. That reminds me, my after school schedule may be shaky for the remainder of this week. If you can't reach me in person, then send me an email.

We'll be watching the first of three film versions of Treasure Island starting tommorrow. After the third version, you'll be asked to write an essay comparing the films to the book. This will count for 20% of your final grade, so don't slack off! If you want to bring snacks to class, feel free, but understand that snacks are just that, snacks. Don't unpack your entire lunch. If you don't have a notebook or paper to take notes with, you'll need one or the other. As always, if you have questions or anything, you can email me, comment here, or ask me questions before or after class.
Now to just figure out how to add names to this address book.. I've got a few email addresses I don't want to lose- Oh, wait. Huh. I'll tackle this after having some coffee; I need to find the other information I want to keep first. |

For next week, students in my class will need to start reading the first 3 chapters of Treasure Island and take notes on the compare and contrast to Pimpernel. I'll be going out of town starting on the 13th, and will be back on the 17th. I'm not going to take my computer with me, since I'm not sure how it'd handle traveling, so I'm afraid that if you need to reach me, you'll just have to wait until I get back. Or you could leave a note with the substitute teacher.
Just because I'm leaving on the 13th, though, don't think that I'll start being lazy. You'll still be expected to hand in your homework and do the assignments.

Why did I think that trying it again would change the outcome? If anything, it's a text book example of insanity.
I should cover psychological genres sometime this year. Maybe. Right now, lesson plans are the farthest thing from my mind.

There's going to be a test this Friday on what we've read so far of Pimpernel. We'll be finishing the book and moving into the sequel by next week, probably Tuesday, given how quickly it's been going. The next set of adventure books you'll need will be posted once we've finished Advenutres of the Scarlet Pimpernel. As always, you can talk to me in class, or email me if you have any questions about things.
Hm. I'm almost out of coffee. I guess a trip to the store's on my to-do list. Seven's also running low on food.. I'll just make it an evening trip for groceries, it'd be easier. |

I think when I start to use the keyboard as a pillow, that's a sign that I should stop work for the evening and go to bed. For those of you in my class, we'll keep reading "Pimpernel" and end the book with a test on the themes and how it ties into the Adventure genre. For this week, just work on the next 4 chapters and answering the questions at the end. |

To everyone in my class, we'll start covering genres, starting with Adventure, and a class read along of The Scarlet Pimpernel and its sequel, Adventures of the Scarlet Pimpernel both by Baroness Orczy. You should be able to find copies of both books at any of the book shops in town. We'll begin discussing how the adventure genre started and then go into reading the first few chapters of the first book, with a question sheet at the end. We'll be working on other adventure books, too, but you'll find out what those are when it's time.

As I thought, Lucas's reaction was.. well, interesting. Funny, to be honest. He was expecting gift cards to local pizza places, but he said "This is fine!". It probably helps that I asked that the shop include chocolate covered fruit, instead of just straight fruit.
He also said he owes me coffee and lunch. I'll have to remember to take him up on that. |

Christmas will be here soon. I've never really celebrated it, to be honest. I'm not very religious, but there are people who celebrate it without the religious overtones. Maybe I'll look into sending Lucas something. I'm not going to worry over it right now. It's late, and I should get some sleep. |

My classes will be canceled the remainder of this week. I realize this comes as a shock, but at the moment, I need to step back and evaluate what I'm doing incorrectly, regarding a few topics, mainly what books are being reviewed. Any homework may be handed in at the start of next week, no questions asked. Thank you.
Also, can anyone tell me if the science lab is open to anyone who wants to use it?
